The Further Adventures Of The Everyday Adventurer

Jane celebrationsWell, here we are already 17 days into January! Whilst my 365 Days Of Adventure project is now complete, that doesn’t mean that the adventures have stopped : far from it 🙂 . My year-long project has started an avalanche of new projects, and some of the adventures I started back in 2014 are growing into veritable “expeditions”!

New Projects And New-Old Projects
Thanks to my webinar and TV show adventures, I’ve now developed the technological confidence (yes – actual confidence!) to launch my very first on-line programme. It’s a natural next step for me and for any of you who want to get the hang of doing new stuff (and doing the stuff that you really want to do) without holding yourself back. You can get the full low-down on the Learning To Leap programme here.

Thanks to my SurveyMonkey adventure (Oh, how I wish I’d undertaken this adventure a long time ago!), I’m also launching a live retreat version of my Learning To Leap programme . The retreat is called The Leap and you can jump into all the detail here.

My survey results showed that the programme that most people were interested in was my Telling Stories For A Change training. So, I listened and ,after a few years of rest and recuperation, that course is back on the menu!

The Big Expedition
If you’ve been following my adventures for a while, you may know that I wrote a short faerie story last summer. I sent that story off to a handful of literary agents and one publisher. The publisher was interested and asked for another story, which I submitted in December. They like that too, and yesterday I embarked on the next stage of my writing adventure : a visit to the publishing house!

I really enjoyed meeting the two editors and it was FABULOUS to be able to tell them how I came to write the stories (yes- I even owned up to my fairy-hunting adventure). The meeting was more about getting to know me and about ascertaining whether I had it in me to go the full book-signing, speaking, reading, interviewing hog… and whether I could enthuse about my own work . We also talked about the genre of my book .. which is a little sticky …. because its natural genre (cross-over) is notoriously hard to sell to bookshops because they don’t know where to put the books.

I get to hear whether the publisher wants to go ahead with publishing a collection of short stories early next week 🙂 . Here’s the “live” report >>

If you’re new to my blog, and you want to catch up with my 365 Days Of Adventure project, just click on the Blog Categories button in the right hand column (or under this post if you are reading this on your phone). When you click on the button it will give you a topic menu, so you can pick and choose as the fancy takes you 🙂 .

Adventure 264 ~ Launch A 7-Part Webinar Series On Creativity

Get Creative Webinar SeriesIf you’ve been following my adventures for a while, you’ll know that I’ve had a few creative adventures this year. In fact, the creative impulse is growing stronger with every creative adventure I undertake!

Since starting the 365 Days Of Adventure project, I’ve written an original fairy story, composed a choral piece for 3 voices, taken up photography, written a collection of haiku poems and even penned the first 3 chapters of the most unromantic romantic novel ever written 😛 .

Through the creative process, I’ve learned more about who I am, I’ve learned how to express myself in new ways, and I’m even beginning to see myself as a really creative person. And you know what? The benefits of this whole creativity thing are just too good to keep to myself!

So, I decided to invite 7 of my creative friends to help me make a webinar series all about creativity. You can find out about the free “Get Creative!” webinar series here.

Adventures 174 – 176 ~ Wild Webinar 2!

bransonblogThe last 3 adventures have been all about getting ready for, and hosting, my second webinar! I’ve had to get my Tech Head on and I’ve really enjoyed playing around with the controls in the Hangouts On Air Control Room (webinar 2 involves multiple guests and it seems like a bit of a high-risk activity… lots of things can go “horribly wrong” … apparently 😛 ).

I’ve also managed to teach myself how to put together an email campaign on MailChimp … just by playing!

6 months ago I would have been having a complete melt-down trying to learn all this stuff (and I would be wanting to be perfect at it ~ immediately). My adventuring seems to have made me much more relaxed, more experimental and MUCH more playful. When you’re relaxed and playful, everything seems so much easier (and A LOT more fun 😛 ).

So, here are 3 videos for you ~

Adventure 174 ~ Play In The Hangouts On Air Control Room

Adventure 169 ~ Learn How To Screen-Share For My Webinar!

Oooh! Oooh! Oooh! (That’s me getting excited!) For today’s adventure, I learned how to screen-share slides for my webinar tomorrow night. I did record the adventure LIVE on Hangouts On Air …. but I can’t share it here because it would spoil the fun tomorrow!

What I can share with you though is this : my adventuring is teaching me to appreciate, and really enjoy, the smallest things. Even learning how to share a slide made me giggle with glee. And I also realised how relaxed I’ve become with technology and with mistakes .. and that makes life a whole lot  easier, I can tell you!

If you’d like to join me for my inaugural webinar adventure, there’s still time to register. You can register here and it’s completely free! Replays are available for all registrants 🙂 .

Adventure 151 ~ Go To An Astro Tarot Webinar [And 2 Guest Adventurers!]

starGosh ~ it’s already the end of the month which means that this post is going to be a bumper edition! In this post, you’ll find a video entry for today’s adventure, my monthly adventure summary report and two guest adventurer videos too!

Today’s Adventure ~ Today I’m attending a astro- tarot webinar. I’ve never been to an astro tarot webinar before and I wasn’t really sure what it might involve. I read a little bit about tarot cards on Wikipedia, so I was expecting some divination to be going on. The description for the webinar mentioned an “energy forecast” and that piqued my curiosity enough for me to give it a whirl. Here’s how I got on ~

May’s Adventure Summary ~

May’s Guest Adventurers ~ This month I’d like to introduce you to Karen Hamill and Flemming Funch. See how Karen gets on with her first ever 5k run and go on a forest adventure with Flemming!

Adventure 150 ~ Learn How To Use A Professional Webinar Platform

Here’s the welcome video for my webinar! I’m calling the webinar “How To Be An Adventurer (Without Climbing Everest”) ~
