Adventure 187 ~ See A Faerie

The fairy thorn tree on our farmOkay. So you think I’ve lost the plot, right? Well, it just so happens that I’ve discovered something called a fairy thorn on our farm (it’s the one in this picture). In this part of the world such trees (lone hawthorns) are revered and feared! You can read more about the tree lore of the hawthorn here.

Some people say that faeries live in the roots of these trees and that the tree is a gateway to the Otherworld.

I watched a documentary about faeries in which lots of information was given about where they live and how to “see” them and so I decided to go to the tree on our farm and take a look for myself!

Apparently, optimum faerie- spying time is at twilight. This meant that I visited the tree both in the late evening and the early morning.

To facilitate this faerie vigil, I camped with my dog in the back of my van. After the evening twilight visit, I laid out everything I would need for the morning twilight visit : my hat, my head-torch and my wellies. When the alarm went off at 4am, sparx blogeverything was in its place except for my hat (it’s my favourite, by the way). Even though I have emptied the van, I still cannot find it…… 😛 .

This adventure has been brilliant ~ I’ve learned so much about local folk lore and it’s helped me feel more connected to the place in which I live. My surroundings seem more colourful to me now 🙂 .

Adventure 180 ~ See My Own Aura

Adventure 179 ~ See A Human Aura

auraAs I was a bit pressed for time today, the idea of a new skill that could be mastered within 5 minutes was very appealing! I found a video on YouTube which claimed that anyone could learn to see a human aura in 5 minutes – and so I decided to give it a go 🙂 .

The results took me a little by surprise (and you can find out a little bit more about what certain aura colours mean here) .

Adventure 178 ~ Use A Smudge Stick [The Easy Way To Be A Domestic Goddess]

Well, can I just say how tired I am after all that cleaning yesterday? It occurred to me that there might be a different way to clean my house  or at least a way to clean my house that didn’t involve me losing the will to live (or wishing that I could summon an instant alien abduction, causing me to get whisked me away from the oven … which I now suspect is the ACTUAL gateway to Hell).

For today’s adventure I discover a new way of cleaning. I reckon it could catch on 🙂 . You can learn more about the practice of smudging here.

Adventures 174 – 176 ~ Wild Webinar 2!

bransonblogThe last 3 adventures have been all about getting ready for, and hosting, my second webinar! I’ve had to get my Tech Head on and I’ve really enjoyed playing around with the controls in the Hangouts On Air Control Room (webinar 2 involves multiple guests and it seems like a bit of a high-risk activity… lots of things can go “horribly wrong” … apparently 😛 ).

I’ve also managed to teach myself how to put together an email campaign on MailChimp … just by playing!

6 months ago I would have been having a complete melt-down trying to learn all this stuff (and I would be wanting to be perfect at it ~ immediately). My adventuring seems to have made me much more relaxed, more experimental and MUCH more playful. When you’re relaxed and playful, everything seems so much easier (and A LOT more fun 😛 ).

Adventure 173 ~ Drive A Case JXU 105 Tractor

Today I have a go at driving a tractor! To double the fun, I am having a go at creating a “typical” YouTube tractor video too ~ so I also try my hand at giving  a tour of the inside of the cab and doing a “walk around” of the outside of the vehicle 🙂 .

Adventure 152 ~ Have An Out Of Body Experience [1]

OBEToday’s adventure choice took me a little by surprise ~ it’s almost like I didn’t choose it consciously! I received an email with details of an audio programme sale and clicked through to the product page. As I scrolled through the programmes, one jumped out at me “How To Have An Out Of  Body Experience” by William Buhlman. When I say it jumped out at me, I mean exactly that : it was as if it rose out of the page!

It’s a 7-hour programme and I’m definitely going to give it a full whirl having listened to the first CD today (at one point I got the tingles!)

In today’s video you can hear about what I’ve gleaned so far. At one point I mention that 80% of people can have an OBE. I should correct that by saying that William Buhlman believes that such experiences are possible for all of us and that 80% of people who follow this particular programme have been successful in transcending their physical bodies.

This is a whole new order of adventuring and I’m up for it! 🙂 . In today’s CD, William described OBEs as “the cutting edge of  human exploration” ~ if that isn’t an invitation to adventure, I don’t know what is!

Today’s Adventure ~ Today I’m attending a astro- tarot webinar. I’ve never been to an astro tarot webinar before and I wasn’t really sure what it might involve. I read a little bit about tarot cards on Wikipedia, so I was expecting some divination to be going on. The description for the webinar mentioned an “energy forecast” and that piqued my curiosity enough for me to give it a whirl. Here’s how I got on ~
